PANO – A district in the northwestern province of Hoa Binh has held an exercise to respond to storms and floods and improve search and rescue skills.
The Kim Boi district exercise, held on August 25th and 26th, included training on the operation of mechanisms for steering committees to conduct natural disaster control and prevention at district and commune levels.
Accordingly, forces joining the exercise simulated dealing with a landslide, conducting search and rescue on rivers and overcoming the consequences.
The exercise was designed to promote the strengths within the localities and cooperation among local forces in dealing with such emergency situations.
Moreover, the exercise was also aimed at building new rural areas by mobilizing labour and equipment to repair 6.7 kilometres of rural road, as well as build infrastructure for storm and flood control and prevention.
