Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh meets constituents in Long Ho district

She said that there are over 800 firms investing in farming this year, raising the total number of businesses in agriculture and rural development to over 10,000. In Vinh Long more specifically, many firms are interested in farm produce processing.

The leader stressed the need to supplement legal regulations to prevent suspects in corruption cases from fleeing abroad and dispersing assets, adding that the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission has been empowered to ask relevant authorities to bar Party members from leaving the country, or to seize assets and freeze bank accounts when necessary.

The acting President also shared voters’ concern about hospital overcrowding and flaws in practice by medical staff. She asked Vinh Long to pay attention to investing in equipment and treatment, as well as improving medical staff expertise to create trust among patients.

Constituents called for promptly issuing circulars and decrees guiding the enforcement of laws. Several of them asked the National Assembly, Government, and localities to outline a proper roadmap to planning transportation and irrigation systems; and preventing drought, salinization, and river landslides to help locals stabilize their lives amid climate change.

They also hoped that more enterprises would invest in agriculture and rural development in order to provide active support for farmers.
