PANO – The Military Region 4 held a ceremony to start building a “VND100 house” to present Second Lieutenant Le Duy Dao under Thua Thien-Hue Military Headquarters. In 2013, Military Region 4’s youths will raise funds to build five more “VND 100 houses” for needy soldiers.

Youths from the Military Techniques Academy organised some practical activities in response to the Youth Month, including cultural and sport performances, and exchanges among lecturers and students.

Under the theme “Green Sunday”, more than 100 youths from Brigade 96, under the Artillery Arm, in combination with its twinned youth branches, well implemented public relations in An Phuoc Commune, Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province. They repaired many kilometres of inter-hamlet roads, dredged water ducts, and cleaned up public areas and two local schools. Additionally, the brigade’s youths offered 50 gifts, worth over VND 3 million, to needy students in local primary schools.

The Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City held a youth festival 2013, titled “Youths join hands to promote urban civilization”, attracting the attendance of thousands of youths. During the festival, the participants took part in meaningful programs, such as “City youths join hands to build new rural areas”, a parade to promote environmental protection, and setting a record of connecting ropes to form a shape “Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union – close friend of every young person”. Notably, in this year’s festival, the Standing Committee of the Group met with youths to better understand their feelings and expectations.

The same day, the Communist Youth Union of Can Tho City organised a ceremony to review the Youth Month 2013 and celebrate the 82nd anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26th), with the participation of 1,500 youths in the city.  

Youths in Can Tho city also organised activities during the Youth Month 2013, with the title “Can Tho youths join hands to promote urban civilization” and the motto “Behave culturally”.

Via the voluntary Saturday program held by the Communist Youth Union of Can Tho City, youths collected more than 70 tonnes of rubbish, planted about 5,000 trees along streets and at universities and colleges, and many ornamental trees around memorial steles of heroic martyrs, as well as at public entertainment areas. In addition, some “Bright-Safe-Green-Clean-Beautiful” roads were built, along with fences for many flag towers, 90km of street lights, and 100 safe traffic locations.

The Communist Youth Union of Can Tho City, on March 24th, organised a youth festive day, attracting the participation over 1,500 youths and students. There were various events during the festival, such as a ceremony admitting new students to the Communist Youth Union, artistic performances, a cooking competition and folk games.

Moreover, 24 classes for career consultancy and job introduction were held for nearly 3,000 students and youths finishing their military duty. Meanwhile, 32 classes for technical transfer on aquatic farming and building economic group model for nearly 3,000 youths were run as well.

Notably, the Communist Youth Union of Can Tho City provided free health check-ups and medicines for about 4,000 local people, as well as presented gifts to needy families, youths and children.
