PANO – Quang Ngai province on March 11th held a solemn ceremony to celebrate 70th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising (March 11th 1945), and receive the Third-Class Independence Order for the province’s Ba To district.

Present at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and thousands of delegates.

The chairman of Quang Ngai provincial People’s Committee Le Viet Chu recalled the revolutionary tradition of armed forces and people in Ba To, contributing to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.

The success of Ba To Uprising helped set up the first revolutionary authorities in Quang Ngai province. Meanwhile, the Ba To militia force established became the first unit of the armed forces of the province under the direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Upholding these achievements, the province in general and Ba To district in particular have made contributions to the national construction and defence cause so far.

The Deputy Prime Minister handed over the order to Ba To district.
