PANO - Engineer Brigade 550 of Army Corps 4 in association with Air Defense Brigade 71, Artillery Brigade 434 and the provincial armed forces of Binh Duong and Dong Nai conducted a river-crossing exercise recently.
The exercise was held in order to evaluate training, troops’ capabilities in river-crossing, commanders’ expertise and the collaboration among participating units, thereby to garner experience to better perform other exercises in future.
During the exercise, Brigade 550 built a 60-ton PMP floating bridge (a type of floating, ready-made, bridge) to help troops cross over 225 meters of the river’s surface. Against the darkness and a high-speed current with numerous eddies, the unit’s troops were able to cross the river successfully.
