PANO – The COVID-19 pandemic is under control now in Vietnam, and people can return to their normal lives. Nevertheless, troops in border areas are still on high alert to strictly protect key positions along the border.

Troops at checkpoints at Landmarks No. 88 and 89 and Muong Pon Border Post under the Dien Bien provincial Border Guard Command have overcome difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions in the border areas.

Located on a mountainside next to Muong May commune (Phongsaly province, Laos), checkpoints at Landmarks No. 88 and 89 are tasked with patrolling along the borderline to ensure security in the area while strictly observing the checkpoints to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 

The People’s Army Newspaper would like to introduce several images of soldiers at the checkpoints.
