Le Anh Dung, a Vietnamese student at Gymnazia school in Tachove, Czech Republic, has won first prize at the 2011 Mathematics Olympiad of this country.
Dung, who has been in the Czech Republic for five years, sought the optimal solutions to mathematic problems at the contest.
The maths competition was held in Gymnazia Kapitan Jaros, Brno city, from March 28-30, with the participation of 40 outstanding representatives from high schools nationwide.
A maths fan, Dung said he was surprised and very happy to be victorious in the contest as he has difficulties with the Czech language.
The student said he will continue to study mathematics at the Mathematics-Physics faculty of Charles University in Prague.
