Vietnamese language develops in South Australia
Many Vietnamese Australian children in Adelaide, South Australia State, can speak Vietnamese very well because their parents are interested in preserving Vietnamese culture and language.
The Vietnamese community in South Australia State has established funds supporting the teaching and studying of the mother language. Many Vietnamese of the first generation in Australia volunteered to teach Vietnamese during their spare time.
Children are encouraged to take part in free courses on Vietnamese language. At some high schools with large numbers of Vietnamese students, Vietnamese language has become an official subject.
