Vietnam’s Embassy in Algeria marks late President’s 128th birthday
The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria held a ceremony in Algiers on May 17 to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 128th birthday (May 19, 1890-2018).
Ambassador Pham Quoc Tru said that the annual event aims to commemorate and show profound gratitude for the late President, who sacrificed his life for the struggle for national liberation and for peace and happiness of Vietnamese people.

He called on the staff of the embassy and agencies and the entire Vietnamese community in Algeria to tighten solidarity to overcome difficulties and challenges to fulfill assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the embassy’s Party cell also held a meeting to encourage embassy personnel to learn and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality and lifestyle.
President Ho Chi Minh led the nation to success in the struggle for national independence and in establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam following the August Revolution in 1945. He passed away in 1969.
