Overseas Vietnamese and students warmly welcome Vietnamese troops at Red Square
PANO - On May 3 afternoon (Moscow time), hundreds of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Russia gathered in the Red Square area, Moscow, Russia to welcome the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) delegation participating in the Red Square Parade.
In late afternoon, the VPA troops arrived at the Red Square, staying ready for the preliminary rehearsal for the upcoming parade to mark the 80th anniversary of Russia’s Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945 - 2025).
When the convoy carrying the VPA delegation stopped, overseas Vietnam cheered them, making Vietnamese officers and soldiers moved.
In the joyful atmosphere, everyone waved the national flag and sang the song “As if Uncle Ho were with us on the great victory day.”
Worried that the troops would be tired from the early departure in early afternoon and would have to wait for the start of the rehearsal late at night, some overseas Vietnamese prepared candy, 100 scarves, and nearly 100 hamburgers to give them for dinner. All VPA officers and soldiers respectfully welcomed and expressed thanks to the overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students for their warm sentiments and warm welcome.
Below are several photos of the warm welcome of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Russia for the VPA delegation at Red Square area.
