More sets of martyrs' remains repatriated

PANO - The authorities of Nghe An province held a burial service at Do Luong War Cemetery yesterday for 65 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who laid down their lives serving international obligations in Laos.

Their remains were brought home from the three Lao provinces of Xiengkhuang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboon.
One martyr whose remains were found by the search and collection team of the provincial Military Command during the dry season of 2015-2016 was also buried.
At the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee cum Head of the provincial Steering Boar 1237 Le Ngoc Khoa said the locality has associated with these Lao provinces to search and repatriate over 11,000 sets of Vietnamese martyrs' remains, with many of them identified and handed over to their families. This meaningful work is a token of deep gratitude to war martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for both countries' peace and independence.
Reportedly, one of the martyrs whose remains were collected this time was identified as Nguyen Cong Con from Thanh Khai, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An province. The rest remain unidentified.
