Previously, flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains during Wipha Storm left 17 people dead or missing while dozens of houses were swept away, collapsed or severely damaged. Total material losses were estimated at VND 120 billion and the two villages of Sa Na and Na Meo as well as several villages of Son Thuy commune were the hardest hit.

Accordingly, the delegation presented hundreds of gifts worth VND 716 million. They were extracted from the trade union fund and contributed by SHB staff to flood-hit people. Besides, they also gave many other meaningful gifts to Na Meo Primary School including books, bookshelves, desks, chairs, water filters, textbooks, a printer and a computer set. The gifts are worth totally VND 220 million.

Speaking at the event, SHB's Trade Union President Pham Quynh Hoa stressed that sharing difficulties with the community is a regular activity of the unit. Every year, the bank provides money and support to assist flood-hit victims in overcoming disaster consequences, build social works, support needy people and families, and present scholarships to poor students.
