MR 7 meets with local religious dignitaries after Tet
PANO - The Military Region 7 Command held a meeting with religious dignitaries in the military region on February 24 under the chair of its Political Commissar Lt. Gen. Tran Hoai Trung.
Currently, there are 14 active religions in Military Region 7 with more than 9 million followers, accounting for 38.58 percent of the regional population. Over the past year, despite being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the armed forces of Military Region 7 and religions and religious compatriots have regularly enhanced collaboration and mutual support.

The Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the military region have always paid attention to directing the mass mobilization work, particularly building hundreds of cultural construction works and sports facilities as well as thousands of gratitude houses for religious establishments and ethnic minority groups. In 2021 only, the military region and localities built 34 constructions and presented over 300 houses to policy beneficiaries.
Representatives of the religious dignitaries expressed their trust in the Party, the State, the military and the military region, and at the same time hoped that the relationship between the regional armed forces and the local religions will be strengthened.

Addressing the meeting, Lt. Gen. Trung spoke highly of the role and contribution of religious dignitaries. He expressed his hope that the religious dignitaries will continue to mobilize followers to implement the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies, contributing to building the national unity bloc and the civilian-military solidarity.
The officer noted that the dignitaries should enhance collaboration with the local armed forces to carry out charity activities, hunger elimination and poverty reduction in order to improve the material and spiritual lives for locals while helping the local armed forces to complete their missions.
