Sr. Lt. Gen. Be Xuan Truong presents gifts to policy beneficiaries in Hai Son commune

A mission from the Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Be Xuan Truong, offered incense and laid wreaths for fallen soldiers at the monument dedicated to Po Hen Martyrs in Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. Po Hen border troops and others sacrificed their lives to safeguard national border sovereignty and security.

On the occasion, the mission presented gifts to 20 policy beneficiary families in border areas throughout the province and hoped that they would follow the national revolutionary tradition, overcome difficulties and further contribute to national development.

The same day, Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and his entourage, paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the temple worshipping troops who died for the country  at Hill 468 in Thanh Thuy commune and those who rest in peace at Vi Xuyen district’s War Cemetery in Ha Giang province. The troops devoted their lives to protect the Northern border of the country in the 1979-1988 period.

General Can also gave each policy family in the district a VND 2 million present.

Meanwhile, the General Department II under the Ministry of National Defense provided free heath checkups and medicine to 300 policy beneficiaries. They also gave 300 gifts to wounded and sick soldiers, national contributors and poor people in Tan Lan commune, Can Duoc district, Long An province. The activity helped tighten the military-civilian ties and demonstrated the national gratitude tradition.

Tuyen Quang provincial Red Cross Society’s representatives instruct people in Kien Thiet commune, Yen Son district on how to use and keep medicine in good condition

With support from Viettel Gia Lai and other companies in Gia Lai province, the provincial Military Command completed their program “Military joins hands for the poor”. It was launched in the three disadvantaged communes of Krong Nang, Ia Reh and Ia Rmok in Krong Pa district. In the program, three households received financial support to help them make housing repairs. Besides, 31 bikes were handed over to poor students with good academic records while 90 poor people received gifts. The Command also organized artistic exchanges and encouraged local people to build new-style rural areas and develop household economies to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

More than 2,000 national contributors and poor people in Yen Thuan, Bach Xa commune of Ham Yen district, and Luc Hanh and Kien Thiet communes of Yen Son district in Tuyen Quang province were given free health checkups and medicine cabinets from the provincial Red Cross Society, provincial Military Command and Vingroup’s Thien Tam Fund.
