Military region 4 responds to flooding in Central region
PANO – Military Region 4 Command has sent a mission, led by its Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Major General Ha Tho Binh, to inspect Ha Tinh’s and Quang Binh’s response activities to torrential rain and flooding.

The command also asked the provincial military commands to carefully check localities’ flooding response activities and mobilized 433 troops, 79 vehicles and 12 speedboats to evacuate 6,767 people from 1,590 households to safer places and to overcome consequences of the flooding.
Earlier, a tropical low pressure caused torrential rain in many localities in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, flooding houses and crops, isolating localities, and causing losses of life and property.
Although it stopped raining, water levels in rivers from Nghe An to Quang Tri provinces remain high. Therefore, the Military Region 4 Command instructed agencies and units to closely follow developments of the flooding to take suitable and timely measures to ensure safety for people. They were also requested to prepare forces and vehicles to help local people cope with and overcome unexpected incidents.
