Earlier on December 31, the fisherman's trawler went adrift about 52 nautical miles Southeast of Vung Tau city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province due to engine failure.
Crewmembers of Ship EVEREST 3 cooperated with other forces to rescue the fishermen and took them to Ba Islet, around 4 nautical miles from La Gi Port due to unfavorable weather conditions. Later, the Phuoc Loc Border Post sent its personnel and mobilized a trawler nearby to tow the distressed trawler and its fishermen ashore safely.
At present, all three fishermen, including Nguyen Van Du, Phung Van Hoang, and Nguyen Van Ngoc, are in stable condition.
