MR1 reviews “For women’s advancement” and gender equality work
PANO - Military Region 1 (MR1) held a conference on January 11 to review “For women’s advancement” and gender equality work in 2016 and to map out missions for 2017, under the chair of the region’s Deputy Political Commissar, Major General Duong Dinh Thong.
Last year, the “For women’s advancement” work of MR1 was implemented in line with major political missions of the MR1 Command and subordinate units; and efficient measures were comprehensively implemented by steering committees at all levels. As of 2016, there were totally 800 female Party members in MR1, of whom 45 were Party committees' members and 21 were newly-admitted to the Party. In addition, MR1 raised VND 400 million for the fund “For women’s advancement”.
In 2017, MR1 will continue boosting the emulation movement titled “Military women promoting solidarity and creativeness, successfully fulfilling their tasks, building their happy families, and deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, and implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo on enhancing the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, moral and lifestyle” and the campaign “Promoting traditions, contributing talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers” as well as building a good model of military women under the “Four Goods” criteria.
