PANO – Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, on January 16th chaired a conference in Hanoi to review the results of women advancement and gender equality in the army in 2014.
Accordingly, last year, the work was effectively carried out in line with documents, instructions and resolutions of the Party, State and Ministry of National Defence.
Concluding the conference, general Nghia laid stress on the importance of the coordination between relevant organs in implementing the work. He added that the Defence Ministry’s Board for Women Advancement and Gender Equality should give proposals to party committees at all levels to build a contingent of professional female cadres, pay attention to needy and mountainous women, and further assist female cadres and staff working in mountainous, border areas and special services.
