During the meeting, Gen. Tan expressed delight that veterans’ associations at all levels have stayed united, overcome difficulties, and actively coordinated and participated in building the Party and fighting schemes of hostile forces to protect the Party’s ideological foundation and the Fatherland, worked closely with agencies and units to effectively carry out the national target program on hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

The deputy chief of the General Staff wished all veterans a happy New Year and hoped that they will continue to set examples people for troops in the whole military and young generation to follow.

The same day, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Nguyen Trong Binh visited, checked, and extended New Year greetings to the Da Nang municipal Military Command and its Standing Militia Flotilla, Song Thu Corporation of the General Department of Defense Industry, the Oil Spill Response Center of Song Thu Corporation, the Naval Region 3 Command and its Regiment 351.

Gen. Binh lauded the units for their achievements in performing their tasks and asked them to continue to review training work and practice scenarios, strictly maintain combat readiness status, closely follow situational developments, make recommendation, and propose measures to handle circumstances in a timely and effective manner, work together to ensure local political security and public order, make thorough preparations for training missions and the handover of enlistees, and hold happy and cozy New Year for troops.
