Chief of the General Staff inspects military units
PANO – Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Military Central Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, inspected Special Task Force Commando Brigade 1 under the Commando Corps and worked with the corps' leaders.
In 2016, the corps efficiently implemented the instructions on combat readiness and military and defense affairs, well prepared forces for its assigned missions, and gave good proposals to the Ministry of National Defense while its troops strictly observed all the military disciplines and regulations.

Having praised the corps' achievements in 2016, General Giang asked the force to further raise training quality, effectively apply former generations’ experiences to the implementation of its current missions, pay special attention to inspection work, and make good preparations for the celebration of its 50th founding anniversary which falls on March 19.
Furthermore, the command should strictly maintain combat readiness and be prepared to undertake both regular and unscheduled missions and develop detailed plans to organize a safe, cozy, and economical Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday for troops.

* The same day, General Giang inspected the combat readiness posture and preparations for the upcoming Tet Festival of the Bac Ninh provincial Military Command. He acknowledged the provincial armed forces’ remarkable achievements over the past time and asked the command to further educate its troops to stay vigilant so as not to be put in a passive and surprised position by any incidental situations.
Working with Bac Ninh’s leaders, the Chief of the General Staff expressed his delight at the province’s rapid socio-economic development and said Bac Ninh province, home to a large number of industrial parks, should also focus on strengthening local defense and security while developing the economy.
On the occasion, General Giang presented gifts to the provincial armed forces and doctors and nurses of Military Hospital 110 and encouraged them to continue promoting the revolutionary traditions of the province, to focus on building a strong and healthy Party organizations, and to fulfill all assigned missions.
