Debriefing the Chief of the General Staff on the task performance of the command in 2016, Major General Vu Anh Van, Commander of the Signal Command, said that last year the whole command focused on implementing the strategy to develop the military communications system in 2011-2020 period.

According to the commander, the command ensured communications for combat readiness; exercises conducted by the Defense Ministry or military units, especially missions to protect national sovereignty over the seas, islands, and border; mitigation of natural disasters consequences; and important events of the country.

Moreover, the commander said that the command finalized the strategic system of radio transceivers at the regional level, contributing to improving the quality of radio communications. The command also supported all military units to implement projects to synchronize military communications. Additionally, the command also timely provided communications equipment for units in the army to accomplish their assigned tasks.

At the Center for High-tech Communications Techniques. Gen. Giang inspected some new equipment and devices manufactured by the command. Testing the device connecting the Center to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, General Giang talked with troops and people on the islands about their task performance and life. He also wished a happy New Year to the people and forces on the islands.

The general praised and congratulated the command on their achieved results. Highlighting the role and significance of the corps, he stressed that the command should continue to well prepare its personnel and equipment to accomplish its set missions in 2017 and the following years.
