PANO - The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army has instructed the Commands of Hanoi Capital, Military Zones 1, 2 and 3, Border Guards, the Navy, Air Defence and Air Force Service, and Coast Guard about the development of typhoon Kalmaegi.

Accordingly, the Border Guard Command was requested to direct border guard forces in coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa to work with local authorities and trawlers’ owners to follow, check and instruct ships fishing offshore to avoid the storm course and dangerous areas. Besides, they should keep contact with the fisheries to help them deal with any circumstances.

Military Zones 1, 2 and 3, the Hanoi Capital Command and Army Corps 1 and 2 should maintain the watch, closely keep in touch with the storm’s development, take measures to keep their depots and barracks safe, and put their troops and equipment on standby for search and rescue mission.

Meanwhile, the Navy, Air Defence and Air Force Service and Coast Guard were urged to take safe measures for their troops who are on duty at sea, and be ready to take part in search and rescue operations.
