The construction was completed at a total cost of VND 700 million, including VND 500 million donated by the General Staff.

On this occasion, the delegation also handed over four gratitude houses to needy policy households in the area. The General Staff donated VND 80 million for the construction of each house.

In addition, the General Staff also provided free health checkups and medicines to over 200 policy people in Dinh Hoa district.

At the ceremony, General Doan underscored the wholehearted support of Dinh Hoa district’s Party Committee, authorities and people for the government and the General Staff to overcome difficulties during the national resistance wars against foreign invaders.

The social program was held to pay tribute to the locals as well as to celebrate the 73rd Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day and the 75th anniversary of the Founding Day of the General Staff (September 7, 1945).

The delegation visited 67-year-old wounded soldier Nguyen Thu Hong in Nghen town (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province), a former volunteer youth, and 65-year-old former volunteer youth Nguyen The Vinh, a toxic chemical victim.

On this occasion, the delegation offered incense at the Dong Loc T-Junction national historical site and presented gifts to ten policy households in Can Loc district.

In Nghe An province, representatives from the VFF also offered incense at the Truong Bon National Monument (My Son commune, Do Luong district) to commemorate war martyrs, and handed over gratitude houses and gifts to needy households in the locality.

During the meeting with leaders of the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, the VFF President requested them to pay due attention to caring for revolutionary contributors, policy beneficiaries, and wounded soldiers. The VFF President affirmed that these acts contribute to consolidating national unity and raising people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.
