At the talk

For his part, General Shevandra Silva thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for setting up this phone talk.

The Sri Lankan officer said that even though his country has reaped important outcomes in COVID-19 prevention, the pandemic has still developed in a complicated manner. Each day, the country has hundreds of new COVID-19 cases.

He took this chance to thank Vietnam for effective COVID-19 experience sharing, which will be applied to the country’s approach as it fights the pandemic.

At the talk, the two sides also agreed to make a proposal to enhance cooperation in military medicine and COVID-19 prevention and control between the leaders of each country’s Ministry of National Defense in order to realize the Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral defense cooperation which was signed in 2011.
