PANO – The Steering Board of the Defence Ministry on Vietnam’s official participation in the UN Peacekeeping Operations gathered in Hanoi on February 25th.
Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc co-chaired the working session.

Leaders of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center informed delegates of task performance of Vietnamese officers at UN peacekeeping missions and preparations for other forces and a level-2 field hospital to participate in UN peacekeeping operations.
They made recommendations to better fulfill their tasks in the coming time.
Addressing the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc agreed that 2015 was a successful year of Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations. Vietnamese peacekeepers fulfilled their assigned tasks and were applauded by the UN and international friends.
They also underlined the important role of beefing up information dissemination in order to help the public learn more about Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations and also its contributions to preserving world peace.
Over the past time, the National Defence Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center and other relevant forces have regularly worked together to improve work related to peacekeeping operations.
