Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet (L) presents a gift to the Lao Public Security Ministry

PANO – A mission of the Vietnam’s Border Guard Command, led by its Commander, Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, has paid a working visit to Laos.

During the courtesy call to Lao acting Minister of Public Security Major General Somkeo Silavong on June 25th, Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet briefed the host on the achievements in ensuring the share border areas between Vietnamese border posts and Lao border guards over the past time.

He affirmed that Vietnam’s border guards would continuously exchange information relating to border management and protection to Lao forces, combat crimes, maintain social order and improve professional measures to create the most convenient conditions for people along the Vietnam-Laos borderline to travel and develop the local economy.

On June 26th, the Vietnamese delegation held talks with a mission of the General Department 502 of Lao Public Security Ministry. The two sides then signed a cooperation agreement on inspecting, controlling and supervising the entrance and exit work of the “one door-one stop” model at the international border gates of Lao Bao (Vietnam) and Densavan (Laos).
