Vietnam, India open defense policy dialogue
PANO - A delegation of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of India led by Indian Defense Secretary Mohan Kumar is visiting Vietnam from February 27 to March 2 and attended the Vietnam-India defense policy dialogue on March 1.

On the afternoon of March 1, Vietnam’s Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich held a courtesy reception for Mr. Mohan Kumar and the Indian defense delegation at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
At the reception, General Ngo Xuan Lich highly valued the results of the 10th Vietnam-India deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue and confirmed that defense cooperation remains one of the key pillars in the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership. In the coming time, the Vietnamese general proposed, defense cooperation should be strengthened and more exchanges should be made at all levels…

* Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh worked with the Indian delegation led by Mr. Mohan Kumar at the 10th Vietnam-India deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue in Hanoi.
The two sides discussed the world security and international issues of mutual concerns and reviewed the results of defense cooperation after the 9th defense policy dialogue held in January 2015, including contents agreed by leaders of the two defense ministries during the visit to India of Minister Ngo Xuan Lich last year. The two sides also devised orientations for realizing cooperation contents with an aim to boost bilateral defense cooperation in both scope and scale.
On this occasion, the Indian delegation laid the wreath in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, paid a field trip to Air Force Division 371, and visited a number of landscapes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
