The training course, which lasts till April 12, is conducted by 11 experts from the UN Integrated Training Service. Thirty high-ranking military and police officers, including those of general ranks, from 23 UN member countries have been enrolled in the course.

Vietnam has also sent five officers, three military officers and two police ones, to the course.

During the course, the instructors who are high-profile experts in supervising and managing plans for the participation in UN peacekeeping operations of countries will explain trainees about UN guidelines on selection, training, deployment, support, force replacement and withdrawal of military or police units, assigned to UN peacekeeping  operations. This course is expected to contribute to building capacity of military and police units of countries for the management and efficiency of UN peacekeeping operations.

This is the tenth UN training course on peacekeeping operations that has been hosted by the Vietnam Department for Peacekeeping Operations, which has demonstrated that the UN has highly recognized Vietnam’s ability in organizing international training courses and capabilities of the Vietnam Department for Peacekeeping Operations.
