PANO – The relationship between Vietnam and Cuba has been developing in all aspects, including defence cooperation for mutual benefit.

This was stated by General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defence Minister, at the reception for Cuban Revolutionary Air and Air Defence Force Commander Major General Tomás Valdez Hernández in Hanoi on December 17th.

The Cuban general informed the host of the outcomes of their talks with the Vietnamese Air Defence and Air Force Service and hoped that the bilateral defence cooperation would be continually stepped up in accordance with their good traditional relationship, particularly in delegation exchanges, cooperation between arms and services, and education and training.

In turn, General Ty affirmed that Vietnam and Cuba have a time-honoured relationship, founded and built up by their leaders, adding that they should further deepen the bilateral ties in general and the defence cooperation in particular in the coming time.
