Scholarships handed over to Cambodian needy students
PANO - At border marker 304/8, Phu My Border Post under the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command awarded scholarships to nine underprivileged students with good academic outcomes from Pray Co Rot commune, Kam Pong Trach district, Kam Pot province, Cambodia. Each scholarship was worth VND 6 million.
Mon Si Val, an 8th-grade student at Da Um Snay Secondary School, expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese soldiers and said she would use the money to buy school supplies, and give the remainder to her mother to buy rice and new clothes.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Danh Tam, Political Commissar of Phu My Border Post, scholarships have been handed over to needy children in border areas for years, funded by troops of the unit as well as the Kien Giang Border Guard Command.
This is considered the unit’s mission, helping strengthen ties between Phu My Border Post and local residents as well as the Cambodian side.

Currently, the post sponsors 40 poor students, including nine Cambodians, and also takes care of a child in special difficulties.
