RoK naval ship starts visit to Da Nang
PANO - On May 4, destroyer Kang Gam-chan of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Navy anchored at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang, starting its three-day visit to the Central city.
The destroyer carries 296 officers and sailors, led by Captain Kwon Yong Gu.

A welcome ceremony for the RoK ship and delegation was held right at the port with the presence of representatives from Naval Region 3 Command, the municipal People’s Committee, Military Region 5, the municipal Military Command, the Da Nang city Border Guard Command, the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense, the Department of Military Security Protection, and the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.

During their visit, commanding officers of the ship will pay a courtesy call on the leadership of the host People’s Committee and Naval Region 3 Command. Korean officers and soldiers will visit some cultural sites in the city. In addition, there will be a joint exercise between Vietnamese and RoK naval ships.

The visit of the Korean destroyer to Da Nang city contributes to promoting the friendship, cooperation, exchange, mutual understanding, and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK.
