Right after that, General Phan Van Giang and his entourage visited the 7th Artillery Brigade of the 7th Army Division under the RoK Army stationed in Namyangju, Gyeonggi province.

During the visit, General Phan Van Giang and his entourage watched a live-fire demonstration of K9A1 self-propelled howitzer and were briefed on the brigade’s organization and its staffed weapons and equipment, including K9A1 self-propelled howitzers and K10 automatic ammunition resupply vehicles.
Reportedly, the 7th Artillery Brigade was established on November 1st, 1989. It has five companies, one artillery repairing factory and one signal platoon. Among the companies, there are four K9 self-propelled howitzer companies and one rocket company.
The brigade is assigned to protect the area where it is stationed, prepare for combat plans, reinforce firepower to higher levels if requested, conduct training sessions, and be ready to support local residents. At the same time, the brigade also safeguards the Eastern and Northern regions of Seoul.

K9A1 is an upgraded variant of the 155mm K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer with a new fire control system, an improved driver's night periscope with thermal front camera, and a rear view camera. K9A1 has firing range within 30-56km depending on a variety of ammunition and can reach maximum speed of 67km/h.
Meanwhile, K10 is an automatic ammunition resupply vehicle based on K9 platform. It carries 104 shells and transfers ammunition at a maximum speed of 12 rounds/min.
