English course opened for level-2 field hospital No.1
PANO – An English course for the level-2 field hospital No.1’s cadres was opened on October 12 at the ACET Center in Ho Chi Minh City. Senior Colonel Luu Dinh Hien, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center, chaired the event.
The course aims to provide the hospital’s officers and staff with English at intermediate level (IELTS 5.5). The course is part of the Vietnam and Australia defense cooperation.
This is the second phase of the English training support program sponsored by Australia for Vietnam peacekeeping forces. Earlier, the first phase was conducted from the beginning of 2014 to September 2016 at Military Hospital 175.
“The course has been specially-created for Vietnamese officers and doctors to improve their English,” said Senior Colonel Luu Dinh Hien.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Colonel Nerolie McDonald, the Australian Defense Attaché to Vietnam, affirmed the course is necessary for Vietnam to take part in the UN peacekeeping operations. With Australian support, Vietnam will fulfill all assigned missions.
The course is being held from September 25, 2017 to January 19, 2018.
