During his stay in Cambodia, the Vietnamese defense chief attended the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Retreat, the ninth ADMM Plus, and informal meetings between ASEAN defense ministers and their U.S. and Indian counterparts.

The attendance of the Vietnamese defense minister in these meetings demonstrated Vietnam’s active, pro-active, and responsible participation in cooperation fields within ADMM and ADMM Plus frameworks. It also confirmed the country’s role and position in the region and the world and helped foster the joint efforts to maintain regional peace, stability, and development.

On the sidelines of these meetings, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang had separate meetings with his counterparts from Cambodia, Laos, China, Indonesia, the U.S., India, and the Republic of Korea. These meetings importantly contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and defense cooperation between Vietnam and these countries in a practical manner.

The People’s Army Newspaper would like to introduce several photos of Defense Minister Phan Van Giang’s activities in Cambodia.
