Border exchange: Vietnamese, Chinese delegations hold talks
PANO - Vietnamese and Chinese Ministers of Defense held talks and reviewed the five years organizing the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Longzhou County, Quangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on November 19.
This is one of the important events of the fifth border exchange this year.
At the talks, Vietnamese Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich and his Chinese counterpart, Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe affirmed that the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange is one of the significant contents in the Vietnam-China bilateral defense cooperation, stressing that, via activities of the exchange, the fine sentiment and friendship of the two countries would be firmly fostered and developed.
The Vietnamese Defense Minister held that the exchange this time is organized in the two localities rich in revolutionary tradition of both countries. Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation, Chinese Minister of Defense Wei Fenghe acknowledged that after the four editions, the exchange has developed on the basis of the bilateral friendship, showing the aspirations of the two nations in tapping the potential of border cooperation.
Minister Wei Fenghe held that the border exchange has helped bolster friendship and improve mutual understanding. He believed that the exchange would be successful, creating a new momentum for boosting the bilateral relations between the two countries in general and the two militaries in particular.

The success of the exchange in the past five years now serves as a firm foundation for the two defense ministries to continue implementing other exchange programs in the following years, spreading widely the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples especially between the border protection forces as well as the fine Vietnam-China relations and the land border of peace, stability and development.
The activities within the framework of the border exchange have contributed to strengthening political trust, affirming the backbone of defense cooperation in promoting the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership in an intensive and extensive manner.
On November 20, at Ta Lung Border Gate of Cao Bang province, a reception was held for the Chinese delegation coming to Vietnam to continue activities of the border exchange in Vietnam.
