Banquet held for foreign military delegations participating in freshly-ended parade

Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien presided over the banquet. Attending the event were Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Thai Dai Ngoc and representatives of the defense attaché offices of the countries in Vietnam.

In his remarks, the Vietnamese deputy defense minister expressed his sincere gratitude for the presence of the delegations from the defense ministries of the countries at the celebration of 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of Vietnam.

Gen. Chien also appreciated the participation of foreign military contingents in the parade, which contributed significantly to the success of the celebration. He emphasized that this demonstrated the solidarity, friendship, and close ties between the people and armed forces of Vietnam and those of other countries.

On behalf of the delegations, Colonel Phoungern Phommeuang, Director of the Military Training Department under the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army and head of the Lao military delegation, conveyed his thanks to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense. He expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s beautiful country and the warm, friendly, and hospitable spirit of its people. He also expressed confidence that the Vietnam People’s Army would continue to develop and grow stronger.
