Vietnam welcomes countries’ cast of votes approving the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution on appealing the end of the embargo on Cuba, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Hai Binh has stated.
His statement was in reply to reporters’ queries in Hanoi on October 29 about the UN’s adoption of a non-binding resolution calling on the US to lift its embargo against Cuba.
Binh affirmed Vietnam’s stance that maintaining the embargo against Cuba is inappropriate and should be shortly removed to totally meet the legitimate aspirations and interests of Cuban and US citizens, contributing to the development as well as the maintenance of peace and stability in the Americas.
