Vietnam supports WTO’s open and transparent multilateral system
PANO – At the Foreign Ministry’s regular press conference on February 25, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam congratulates Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her appointment as the next WTO General Director.
With her experience and knowledge of finance and trade, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will succeed in leading the WTO, contributing to the development of the global trade system, Hang added.

Hang stressed that as a responsible member of the WTO, Vietnam supports the open, transparent, and rules-based multilateral system, and highly appreciates the WTO’s central role.
She also said that Vietnam will closely coordinate with the new General Director and other members to boost the WTO’s reform process.
