PANO - Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and Hungarian Deputy Foreign State Secretary Szilveszter Bus co-chaired a political consultation on bilateral cooperation and several regional and global issues of mutual concern as part of the Hungarian official's visit to Vietnam from September 29 to 30.
At the event, the Hungarian official said that the Hungarian government will soon pass the Vietnam-European Union Free Trade Agreement to lay a foundation for furthering economic-trade cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides agreed on several measures to boost cooperation in the time to come, including delegation exchanges and coordination at international and regional forums, especially at the United Nations and the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).
They called for boosting cooperation in science-technology, aquaculture, food processing, education and training, and culture.
They discussed Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects funded by Hungary in Vietnam.
The two officials highly valued cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, including maintaining a political consultation mechanism on bilateral relationship issues, global and regional situations, viewpoint sharing on important international issues.
They noted that it is very important to settle disputes, especially those in the East Sea (South China Sea), via peaceful means on the basis of international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), contributing to ensuring maritime and aviation security, safety and freedom.
During the visit, the guest signed a cooperation agreement between the Hungary Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, talked about the European situation and Hungary-Vietnam relations with students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, and toured some economic and cultural establishments in Ho Chi Minh City.
