PANO – Vietnam’s Quang Nam province and Laos’ Sekong province celebrated the completion of the project to increase and upgrade their border markers in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam, on May 28th.

In 2008, both countries started upgrading border markers along the shared border line to make them more durable in the long term.

Particularly, sixty markers and seven sign posts were added along the 142km border line along Quang Nam and Sekong provinces.

In the coming time, according to their agreement, they will continue their efforts to raise the public’s awareness of the protection of the shared border, border security, contributing to peace, stability and development in areas in the shared border and deepening their bilateral relations.

On this occasion, the two provinces presented certificates of merit to their dozens of individuals and groups for their outstanding efforts in upgrading the border markers.
