General Secretary of the Labour Party of Mexico (PT) Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez presented 50 wheelchairs to the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico on August 28 and asked it to deliver them to the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA).

Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez, who is also the Chairman of the Mexico-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, said that the gifts manifest the PT and Mexican people’s support for Vietnam’s struggle for independence and liberation as well as a sharing with the victims.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung thanked the General Secretary and PT for the gifts and pledged to deliver them to the VAVA as soon as possible.

This is the third time the PT has made donations to Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims, bringing the total number of wheelchairs to 170.

In an interview given to Vietnam News Agency, the General Secretary congratulated Vietnam on the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) while wishing the country reaps more achievements during its national construction and economic development.
