Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his hope that Vietnam-US ties will continue to grow strongly during the tenure of the new President, during a meeting on November 16 with US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius.
The Deputy PM congratulated the US Government and citizens on the successful presidential election, selecting Donald Trump as the 45th president of the country.

He suggested the US Government and enterprises support the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum 2017 (APEC 2017) which will be held in Vietnam and to facilitate the entry of Vietnamese products, especially agricultural goods, in the US market.
For his part, Ambassador Ted Osius affirmed that the US will continue to foster relations between the two countries, adding that the US always attaches importance to its cooperation and ties with Asia.
He said the key goal in his term is to turn the US into the leading investor in Vietnam.
According to the Ambassador, the US will focus its help to Vietnam on addressing environmental pollution in the Mekong Delta area, clearing UXO, cleaning dioxin-contaminated areas, searching for troops’ remains, providing humanitarian aid overcoming natural disaster consequences.
He asserted that the US always wants to boost bilateral trade and investment ties with Vietnam although the TTP ratification process is slowing down.
