PANO – The delegation of the family members of Chinese experts, who directly assisted Vietnam during the anti-French resistance war, on April 26th visited historical relics in Dien Bien Phu, laid wreaths and offered incense at A1 Martyrs’ Cemetery in commemoration of fallen Vietnamese soldiers.

Mrs. Xu Qiqian, the wife of Mr. Wei Guoqing, one of the Chinese experts, was touched as visiting the hut where her husband worked during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. She studied the restoration of the hut and measures to preserve it and said these artifacts in the hut should be carefully protected because they are important evidence for the friendship of the two armies, nations and parties.
During the visit, Mrs. Xu Qiqian also had talks with war veterans who served in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Vice Chairman of the China –Vietnam Friendship Association Qi Jianguo, who led the delegation, recalled the close relations of the two countries in the wartime as well as the contributions of Vietnam to China in the past. He also expressed his thanks to Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phung Quang Thanh and organs for their warm welcome.
