Responding to reporters’ query on the new US Secretary of Defense, Hang said: “We hope that the new US Secretary of Defense will make significant contribution to the Vietnam-US relations, especially in the sphere of national defense.”

Mark Esper was sworn in as US Secretary of Defense after receiving Senate confirmation on July 23, according to foreign media.
