During the reception, Minister Minh spoke highly of the former US Secretary of State’s great contributions over recent times and reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of considering the US as one of Vietnam’s top important partners. He also hoped that the two countries would further boost friendship and stable, practical and long-lasting cooperation on the basis of mutual respect for each other’s political regime.

For his part, Mr. Kerry committed to continue fostering Vietnam-US ties in the time to come. He also affirmed the importance of developing clean and renewable energy towards the socio-economic development of each country, adding that Vietnam has great potential in this field via public-private partnership.

* On the same day, former US Secretary of State John Kerry also met with Nguyen Van Binh, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs.
