Vietnam, Thailand work to consolidate strategic partnership
PANO - At a reception on March 8 in Hanoi for a visiting delegation of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group, led by its chief Sakchai Tanaboonchai, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Do Ba Ty hoped that Vietnam and Thailand would carry out more bilateral cooperation activities and boost all-level delegation exchanges in the coming time.
Mr. Ty also wished a Defense Policy Dialogue Mechanism at the Deputy Ministerial level to be established this year, contributing to fostering the fruitful strategic partnership between the two countries.
The host believed the visit would partly help develop the Vietnam-Thailand bilateral ties in different fields. He emphasized that Thailand is one of Vietnam’s leading trade partners.
Thanking the Government of Thailand for creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese expatriate workers in the areas of construction and fishing, the host suggested early implementation of the Vietnam-Thailand Labor Cooperation Agreement and more job opportunities for Vietnamese expatriate workers in the country.
Agreeing with the host’s suggestions, Chief of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group thanked him for a warm reception and confirmed that he would do his utmost to give best conditions for Vietnamese expatriate workers and to bolster the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand.
