The four-year MoU was signed between Deputy Minister of Justice of Vietnam Tran Tien Dung and Deputy Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police of Switzerland Michael Scholl as part of the former’s visit to the European country from June 20-22.

Per the MoU, both sides will organize meetings and consultations on the implementation of international treaties as well as share professional documents and information on the laws of each nation.

In the first two years realizing the MoU, the two countries will join hands to translate The Hague Convention concluded on November 15, 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matter. They will also share experience in the execution of The Hague Convention concluded on March 18, 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters, and New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.

Meanwhile, the building of international justice law will be part of the MoU.

During the delegation’s stay in Switzerland, they made a fact-finding tour of the debt collection office in Bern region to study models and forms used in the host nation to reclaim debts and register for debt confirmation.
