Vietnam, Netherlands share experience in media policies
Vo Van Phuong, deputy head of the Commission for Information and Education of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee has paid a visit to the Netherlands for experience exchange in media-related policies.
Phuong had a meeting with Chairwoman of the Dutch Media Authority Madeleine de Cock Buning in late September during which Buning briefed him on the authority’s organizational structure and the Netherlands’ media market and related policies.
The two sides shared experience in managing and supervising the media against the backdrop of the thriving media industry which has seen a variety of new forms of modern media.
The Vietnamese official also met with representatives of the Vietnamese people association in The Hague and Vietnamese students studying in the Netherlands to learn about their thoughts and aspirations.
Vietnamese people now form a community of about 20,000 people across the Netherlands who have been acting as a bridge to enhance the mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier September, Phuong visited the Czech Republic to study the development social welfare policies in the European country. In a meeting with Vice Chairwoman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies’ Committee on Social Policy Lucie Safrankova, the two sides discussed policies for retirees and those on social welfare, women’s rights and housing.
