Vietnam, Japan to develop partnership
PANO - Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong received Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVFPA) in Hanoi on March 9.
At the meeting, the party official confirmed Japan’s role in Vietnam’s foreign policy. He also thanked the Japanese Government and people for their support for Vietnam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thuong acknowledged the Japanese special advisor's positive and effective contribution to the relationship between the two ruling parties and governments as well as the exchange between Vietnamese and Japanese parliamentarians and people.
He expressed his pleasure at Takebe’s activities in promoting bilateral cooperation in education, training and culture over the past time.
For his part, special advisory Takebe Tsutomuthe spoke highly of Vietnam’s economic recovery and COVID-19 prevention and control. He said the two nations share many similarities, particularly culture and have reaped outcomes in educational exchanges and labor collaboration.
The guest informed the host on bilateral cooperation contents, such as the Vietnam-Japan University project.
He expressed his desire to make further practical contribution to cooperation in training high-quality human resources and increasing mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Also at the meeting, the two sides underlined that 2023, which marks five decades of the establishment of the Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations, is an occasion for the two countries to review the progress, achievements, and potential and at the same time, to set out strategic visions and orientations for the bilateral ties in a new period.
Both the host and guest agreed to jointly make efforts in boosting Vietnam - Japan extensive strategic partnership through concrete and practical cooperation activities with support of the people of the two countries.
