U.K. presents 320,000 doses of AstraZeneca to Vietnam
PANO - Minister for Asia at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the U.K. Amanda Milling has just decided to offer 320,000 AstraZeneca doses to Vietnam.

At the talk, the two sides expressed delight at the sound development of the Vietnam-U.K. strategic partnership. In the year of 2021, despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, both sides have effectively promoted high-level exchanges, while discussing solutions to realize agreed contents which have been made by the two countries’ leaders, so as to heighten and deepen the Vietnam – U.K. strategic partnership in the time to come.
On this occasion, Mrs. Amanda Milling announced that the U.K. Government will present 320,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung thanked the U.K. Government, hoping that the U.K. would further provide vaccine as well as COVID-19 medicine, especially soon transfer vaccine production technology to Vietnam, to combat the pandemic.
Both sides also took the occasion to discuss some international and regional issues of mutual concern, emphasizing the importance of respecting and maintaining peace, stability, and security, as well as ensuring navigation and aviation freedom in the East Sea (South China Sea) in accordance with international law, and considering the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982 as a legal framework for all activities at seas and oceans.
